Remember that:
- Childhood cancer can be cured.
- Cancer is not contagious.
- Cancer does not mean death. Although it is a serious, life-threatening disease, it requires time and appropriate, specialized treatment.
- For childhood cancer, there is no prevention, but proper evaluation of suspected symptoms and findings that can lead to early diagnosis. Therefore, special attention must be paid to the training of doctors so that they are able to diagnose cancer early, inform parents, and refer to special centres abroad for further knowledge.
- Children are much less likely to contract cancer than adults, although cancer remains the most common cause of death in children after accidents.
- The road from diagnosis to recovery is an important, special part of a child’s life, their own adventure, their own experience, their own feelings.
That’s why:
The Association assures to accompany parents and children throughout their cancer journey, from diagnosis to recovery and beyond, keeping their morale, faith, hope and above all their smiles unquenched.
The “One Dream One Wish” Association becomes the link between old and new cases, with our monthly meetings, with our excursions and trips that take place in Cyprus and abroad…Together parents and volunteers grow the chain of love!!! We support each other, we get strength and help the child to get proper medical and psychological care.
And we, the volunteers of the Association “One Dream One Wish”, according to the lyrics of Nikos Kazantzakis:
You have the brushes, you have the colors, paint the paradise and get in…
We will continue to paint each child’s paradise… until they are fully healed, back home, in their own paradise !!!
We will continue to keep the stars bright, fulfilling the wishes of children, lighting up their little faces with smiles, and their little hearts with joy.
We will continue to be their Companions !!!
We will continue to spread our love and offerings daily!!!!
