It is only natural that parents attach great importance to the treatment of their children. However, in many cases, due to expensive treatments abroad and the parents’ absence from work, the family is in an impossible financial condition to fulfil a major wish of the child.

Pain knows no borders or dividing lines, neither skin colour, religion, nationality, social class or economic status. “One Dream One Wish” Association has granted hundreds of wishes to children with cancer who come from the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot communities, from the religious groups of Maronites, Armenians and Latins, from mixed marriages of Cypriots with foreigners as well as from families of foreigners living in Cyprus.

When fulfilling a wish, the members of the Association are accompanied by various individuals or representatives of organizations and companies who in various ways support the Association’s funding, so that they too feel the joy of giving and of acquiring an interpersonal relationship with the suffering child and their family.

The Association makes sure that the day of the wish fulfilment is special for the child by offering surprises, such as a visit to the child’s home from their favourite football players, actors and singers with their autographs and gifts. The children’s joy of having their idols in front of them is indescribable.
